We've had a very mild winter with temperatures steadily in the 50's, 60's and even 70's. I took a picture of the daffodils in front of our church Sunday. Many of our Bradford Pear trees are in bloom and it's still February. This winter is one for the record books.

Randy has an idea for a large pond in our back field so we headed out back this morning. Scott drove the backhoe while Randy watched. Trust me... Randy is waiting patiently for his turn with the backhoe. Scott drove the backhoe all the way to our back field, digging out the hillside in areas to make the road flat. I was the prayer warrior, praying for safety along the way and holding my breath at times. Randy showed Scott the site he had in mind and plans began to be formed for our future pond. The opportunities with our new backhoe are unlimited and it's pretty exciting for us. Scott and Randy also checked out our back pond that is years over grown. I left them both with chain saws in hand, trimming trees, in preparation of getting the backhoe to the pond. PS. You'll notice our two cows in the field that keep getting out....the grass is greener on the other side.

Scott and his friend, Charles, had a great time in New York. They spent a couple days with the Littles and then headed up to St. Johnsbury, VT for a couple days of snowmobiling. As you can see, they had their fill of snow. Scott took pictures of his trip, though no pictures of him. The top picture shows Scott's truck in the background....my snow loving man planned the snowmobile trip perfectly! Great pictures. Scott hauled our trailer up with him and brought back a press frame for the farm. A big thanks to Dad for my whiskey barrel too. I'll treasure it always. We send our love to you mom and dad and miss you greatly♥ Thank you Lord for a safe trip and your gift of snow.
Miracle is 12 weeks old and absolutely loves her formula. We are still feeding her 4 cups in the morning and evening. I've been meaning to take her picture as I'm always reminded of the advertisement "Got Milk" when she eats. She hungrily laps her formula, looking up, with milk dripping from her chin! Perfect...Got Milk♥

While Scott was away in NY, Randy showed up on Friday, spending the weekend with me and I was delighted. Because we are both project oriented, we spent Saturday working around the farm. Randy gladly hopped in the backhoe, bringing the load of rocks to the front, placing them in my planter. It now has three layers of rock and looks so good. One more load to go. We also gave the apple trees a good trimming, dragging the cut limbs to the burn pile. Randy sure loved the back hoe and I can see his mind just a twirling on all the things he could dig... like a big pond!

What a blessed Valentines Day♥ My dear friend Carolyn, from our Methodist Church family, was recently home from the hospital and she's been in my heart and prayers. After stopping by the store to pick up flowers, I headed to Carolyn's house for a nice visit. We hugged and chatted the morning away, catching up on each other's lives. She's been like a mother to me... giving me guidance and unconditional love. Gosh I love her! I'm so glad the Holy Spirit prompted me to visit, as Carolyn told me she was leaving on Friday to live with her daughter in Atlanta. We prayed together and hugged for what may be that last time on this earth but, because of God's grace, we'll get to spend eternity with one another!

Scott is off to NY to see his folks, get some snowmobiling in and pick up a press for the farm. A buddy of his is going with him. I know they'll have an awesome time, especially with that recent storm that dumped a fresh 18" of snow! Praying blessings on your trip babe.

Our Randy is a man who finds pleasure in the simple things, like a cup of good coffee. There's no better way to start his morning than with a cup of coffee and a bible, enjoying his quiet time with the Lord. Randy ordered raw coffee beans online from Mr Green Bean and tonight he spent the evening roasting some of the beans. The process is actually pretty simple: He poured 1/2 cup of the raw beans into a tin can that was inserted into the popper. After two minutes of roasting, the chaff of the coffee bean came off and the beans started cracking, making a popping sound...and they were ready. After the beans were cooled, Randy put them in little brown gift bags to pass out to his neighbors in his apartment complex. What a great way to meet his neighbors! PS. Guess what Randy is having in the morning? You got it...fresh ground coffee and the house smells heavenly.

After church today Scott received a text from Randy about taking a trip down to Chattanooga to look at an old truck. I helped Scott hook up the goose-neck trailer and off he drove to help Randy out. He stopped in Knoxville, picking Randy up and they both headed to Chattanooga. I called the guys and Randy mentioned he ended up not getting the truck...it was in pretty rough shape. There'll be another one soon enough. I told Randy he had a pretty good Dad that would always be there for him and he agreed♥

Before Scott went to Mexico, he made this To Do list and accomplished most of the items except the "Dig Something." Today, he finally got to check that item off his list. He was able to use the backhoe for the first time, moving a stump on the land down the road that he grows alfalfa on. He also came back with a load of rock for landscaping.
