We've been watching the Olympics and after the slalom competition, Scott said "I've got to go skiing!" Scott text the boys and Randy said he was in. We made arrangements with Randy, meeting up at Beech Mountain, NC. Scott and I loaded up our car and were off, listening to music the whole way, with Scott singing Bad to the Bone and Life Is A Rock (But The Radio Rolled Me) by Reunion. I'm so amazed at my husband and how he knows all those words! We met Randy at noon and I almost walked by him with his glasses on and I swear he'd grown taller! It was so good to hug him. It was a beautiful day with blue sky and Scott and Randy skied the afternoon away. I spent my time at the lodge watching them through the window, sitting with a group from Kingsport and learned several of them had grown up in Rogersville. We chatted the afternoon away. Afterwards, we stopped at the Brick Oven for dinner where Scott showed me the video he'd taken of Randy skiing...it was a good father/son day. On our way home we stopped at Nana and Steve's house for a hug and visit. It was a blessed day indeed. Take care Randy and we love you.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10
Happy Valentine's Day. We spent our special night with friends, Dennis and Trish, dining at the River Place on the Clinch. It's one of our favorite places to go and their Valentine dinner is so popular, reservations are needed for this special night. We enjoyed our evening out, laughing and visiting, sharing stories with one another. On this day of love we send ours to our family and friends across the miles. We also thank God for first loving us that we may even know what love is. 1 John 4:7-21 tells of that love and to put it simply, God is love and no greater love is there! That is totally awesome and we pray you know that love too♥

Wahoo! We woke up to 7 inches of snow from winter storm Pax and it's a winter wonderland. It's not often we get this much snow and it's beautiful! This storm came from the south and our prayers go out to those who live in Georgia and the Carolinas as they got hit with ice and power outages. As you can guess, schools were cancelled yesterday and the rest of the week. We used up our last snow day today so now we start adding days to the end of the school year. I've been filling my time with cross stitching and doing my Beth Moore bible study called James, Mercy Triumphs. It's so awesome how James, Jesus' half brother, went from unbeliever to a pillar of faith in the early church...yes, mercy triumphs! I just completed week one and am now starting week two where we get into the book of James itself. Can't think of a better way to spend my snow days. This morning I took a walk with Bear in the blanket of white and couldn't resist making a snowman. We send our love to everyone. Happy Winter!
