Ethan and Scott took advantage of the nice weather this weekend and lined Ethan's truck bed with Herculiner. It's a rubberized coating to protect the bed of the truck. They got the first coat done; the second coat will have to wait for another day. It was a good father-son project and it turned out way cool.

Longs Bend Clean Up

No black Friday for us...we spent our day at Longs Bend cleaning up our friend's property, along with Randy's buddies, Josh and Preston. Randy had arranged for two dumpsters to be delivered to their property that morning. All the men were there early and one dumpster was already filled time Scott and I arrived. You couldn't ask for more beautiful weather to work in. Many hands make light work! They still have more to do, but made great headway on clearing the place up today.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving...we are thinking of our families across the miles and wish we could all be together! We had a wonderful day filled with good food, warm weather, family and friends. Scott and I got up early, made the dressing and stuffed the turkey the same way I remember my mom used to do growing up. Randy is home from college and was out before sunrise hunting with Josh. We spent our special day with Nana and Steve, Brittney, and dear friends Susan and Frank. Sitting around the table all together again was a special blessing indeed..the Lord is so good! With all of our hearts full, we each went around the table expressing something we were thankful for. Kenny stopped by which made our day even more complete. We wish each of you a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends. Praise God from whom all blessings flow...♫

Pressure Washing the Porch

Today Charles and I pressure washed the back porch; didn't realize how dirty it was until we started spraying. Due to the humidity in the east, things tend to get mold and algae on them...yuk. Plus our chickens have been roaming the yard and pooping on our porch (that's a polite word) leaving stains. Trust me, our porch needed a good pressure washing! Scott and Ethan worked in the garage and in the evening we had a huge bonfire as our burn pile was getting high. Work never seems to end on a farm. I told Scott I wish we had a month to stay home and get things done...maybe one day. The chickens are back in their house with the door shut :)

I wasn't going to take pictures as I knew what I looked like. Charles got the camera out anyway!

Charles' creativeness. See the difference after we pressure washed?
