Happy Thanksgiving From Our Family To Yours

Happy Thanksgiving from Tennessee. We spent our special day with family and and old. Nana and Steve came from Johnson City and our dear friends Frank and Susan Farrow and their friend Tony, who just recently returned from Africa. Charles friend, Kenny, stopped by at the perfect time and ate with us too. He's "family" and Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without him. We spent several hours around the table eating and visiting, sharing stories and laughing. We give all of our thanks to the Lord who has blessed us beyond measure. Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Hay Fort Grand Tour

This hay fort is so cool I thought I'd give you a personal tour. My cameraman, Charles, did a great job at a difficult task...having to go down the fort backwards to film. We started at the top and worked our way down to the opening. So come along and experience the hay fort. Hope you have as much fun as we did making it (...okay, professional I'm not!)

It's a tight squeeze.

Scott got home from Indianapolis. We are glad he's home. Now we're just waiting for our Randy!

A Haircut For Ethan

Charles has been cutting Ethan's hair lately. I bought clippers many years back and have been cutting their least Randy and Ethan's. I just put on a 1/4 inch blade and I'm set. These boys are pretty simple and like their hair short. Well, last week Charles surprised Ethan with a mo hawk. I quickly got the camera. He didn't have it more than a couple minutes, but it was worth a picture. You got to love boys!

I don't think Ethan is quite aware of what Bud is doing.

Ethan looked in the mirror and saw his reflection.

Hay Fort

So what do boys do with a barn full of hay?...why build a hay fort of course. Charles and Ethan have been working all week on this cool hay fort with tunnels, caverns and secret openings. They started their plan on the kitchen table designing the fort with Legos. Then each evening they headed out to the barn, rearranging the hay bales, bringing their plan to life. I believe they're having a great time. When you go into the fort you'll need mining lights to see. Some of it s pretty tricky and took some effort to get to the next level...I'm not as thin or fit as I used to be, that's for sure. What a blast and I took lots of pictures.

Here I am ready to go into the fort.

Stopping for a pose :)

Whew..I made it out!
I took this picture from the top of the barn looking down.

Charles can climb anything!

Duke...he loves the fort too. Anywhere the boys are, he is.

My BeeKeepers

Today Scott and Charles replaced the supers they took from one of our bee hives. I love to watch them dress in their white coveralls, boots, gloves and hats with veils of mesh. Scott had his smoker ready to make the bees drowsy. Scott loves his bees... and he's so gentle with them. Next time I'll go with them and take more pictures.
